George RR Martin har inte tid att titta på ”Game of Thrones”

Fantasy-författaren har fullt upp med sitt skrivande och turnerande.

Game of Thrones är just nu världens populäraste TV-serie. Varje avsnitt har över 30 miljoner tittare och är den mest nerladdade serien.

En som däremot inte har tid att titta är författaren och tillika skaparen George RR Martin, skriver Metro. Fantasy-författaren har fullt upp med skrivandet av nästa Game of Thrones-bok, The Winds of Winter, och att hans turnerande har tagit upp tid. Han påpekar i en intervju med tidningen att böckerna och TV-adaptionen skiljer sig från varandra.

The book series and TV adaptation go their separate ways. On the screen characters are killed right and left. About twenty of them have died already, which are quite alive to me and will appear in a new book.

George RR Martin kommenterar även seriens populäritet.

Epic fantasy was born with the advent of "The Lord of the Rings" by Tolkien. After that, there were very popular book series - for example, made by Robert Jordan and Terry Brooks. Nevertheless, they remained being made for teenagers. And if they were made a series, then it would be a story for children about magic and dragons. HBO, which launched the "Game of Thrones,”pushed through all these conventions. They left a complicated plot, sex and violence.
